Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of nursing students' experience of verbal abuse during clinical practice and nursing professionalism on career identity. Methods: The participants in this study were 106 nursing students. Data were collected from October 20, 2022 to November 3, 2022, by using self-reported questionnaires. Data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS 29.0 program. Results: There was a statistically negative correlation with verbal abuse and career identity (r=-.29, p=.003). In contrast, there was a statistically positive correlation with nursing professioanlism and career identity (r=.53, p＜.001). Predictors of the nursing students' career identity were nursing professionalism, stress with clinical practice, and major satisfaction, these are explaining 37.4% of the variance in career identity of nursing students. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is required to improve the clinical practice environment of nursing students and develop a program to increase nursing professionalism. It is also necessary to establish a system that can increase major satisfaction.
